From Frequency to Fidelity: Building an Ethical AI Canon
Published on June 18, 2025
What makes a value “canonical” in AI ethics?
Drawing from over 43 seed values and thousands of ethically coded phrases, the latest AI Moral Code update operationalizes Trust, Justice, Privacy, and Autonomy through a rigorous computational lens. Each candidate is analyzed through:
- TF-IDF Stratification
- Sector Normalization
- Contextual Multipliers
- Composite Value Scoring (CVS)
The result is a living architecture of values—relevant, testable, and grounded in real-world ethical use cases. An Ethical Salience Tracker (EST) will soon allow iterative recalibration of the Canon based on legislative, semantic, and cultural shifts.
This marks a transition from ethical theory to value telemetry—placing normative fidelity at the center of machine governance.
